From Hanoi by overnight train to Lao Cai in the North Vietnam hill country. Then an early morning drive to an open air market where members of the Flower Hmong tribe come to sell their goods. After some time photographing the scenery and people we went on to Bac Ha, spending a very cold night without heat in the hotel. In the morning walked around the market in town. Then drove to Sapa where we spent the rest of the day. Here members of the Red Dao and Black Hmong tribes gather for the market and to look over prospective spouses.Overnight train back to Hanoi.
